DES DENTELLES À L’ÉCHAFAUD
Diapason d'Or - Anne Ibos-Augé (FR)
Far from any kind of dryness, Lucie de Saint Vincent’s playing seduces with the suppleness of its phrases, driving a most accomplished discourse.
One truly bows down—and none too effusively—before an eloquence so full of finesse: in summary, a respect for both letter and spirit, which the choice of the two instruments so beautifully underlines.

France Musique - "Allegretto" - Who are you Marie Bigot ? - Denisa Kershova (FR)
Do you know Marie Bigot? A French pianist and composer who passed away at the age of 34 in 1820, this accomplished musician held a musical salon where she encountered all the personalities of her time, from Haydn to Beethoven and passing through Salieri, Auber and the children of Mendelssohn.

Les Echos - Philippe Venturi (FR)
This programme—with its unusual title—brings together two forgotten women composers from the beginnings of Romanticism. Hélène de Montgeroult (1764-1836) taught at the newly created conservatory. Her junior Marie Bigot de Morogues (1786-1820), a renowned pianist, lived for many years in Vienna, where she knew Beethoven and Haydn. Each of these women left behind works of great value. Lucie de Saint Vincent convinces us of this with her supple and precise playing as well as her manner of drawing sound from the two superb, early 19th-century fortepianos.

Res Musica - Michele Tosi (FR)
The two works chosen by Lucie de Saint Vincent — world premieres like most of the pieces on the CD — demonstrate the extent of her talent through a vigorous style that very often evokes Beethovenian gestures.

Crescendo Magazine - Jean Lacroix (BE)
Lucie de Saint Vincent performs this programme with a natural distinction and a controlled passion that the choice of instruments—both superb—make it possible to appreciate even more. In the presentation of the album, reflecting exemplary care and enriched with colour photographs, she provides a long, explicative text in which she notably addresses the recreation of the images and colours that reflect the French instrumental taste of that era. Her eloquent demonstration is a pleasure to hear.

Entretien - Présence Compositrices (FR)
For the fourth disc issued on the Présence Compositrices label, fortepianist Lucie de Saint Vincent breathes new life into/brings back to life the works of Hélène de Montgeroult and Marie Bigot de Morogues. Under the elegant title Des dentelles à l’échafaud, Lucie de Saint Vincent immerses us in the music of the post-revolutionary era.
Combining her talents on two period instruments by Erard and Stein, she uses unexpected colours to render the works of these two composers, whose trajectories were altered by the French Revolution and whose works influenced musical style in both the Parisian and Viennese spheres.

Bla Bla Blog - Bruno Chiron (FR)
In this opus, Lucie de Saint Vincent presents a programme focusing on two forgotten composers (it’s the policy of the Présence Compositrices label), namely Hélène de Montgeroult (1764-1836) and Marie Bigot de Morogues (1786-1820). These two women lived during the period of the Revolution, a transitional moment in all respects and notably in the musical and artistic spheres, which is illustrated in the striking and well-chosen title for the album.

Veille Carne - Stéphane Loison (FR)
Here is a world-premiere recording of women composers who are practically unknown: Hélène de Montgeroult (1764-1836) and Marie Bigot de Morogues (1786-1820). Hélène de Montgeroult is considered by her biographer to be a bridge between classicism and romanticism.

Everything about this production is sublime: the quality of this little-known repertoire, the interpretation, the choice of elegant and stylistically appropriate fortepianos, the recording, the detailed historical context in the liner notes, and finally, the clear importance of shedding light on these women composers who are often eclipsed by their globally celebrated male counterparts.

This CD marks an important step toward placing two remarkable composers back on the European musical map. All our praises for this audacious initiative and its realisation!
