LUCIE DE SAINT VINCENT
Pianist, composer, fortepianist

Welcome
The multifaceted pianist, composer and arranger Lucie de Saint Vincent explores a wide range of musical universes, blending diverse genres and influences.
With diplomas in early music, classical music and jazz from the Utrechts Conservatorium, the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, the École normale de musique in Paris, and the Conservatoires à rayonnement régionale in Rueil Malmaison and Perpignan, Lucie switches seamlessly between the piano and fortepiano for her various projects.
Founder and artistic director of the Collectif Trytone, Lucie explores musical synthesis in her quest to break down the barriers between styles and traditions. In 2024, she created the Fondation NovArtFea in the Netherlands in order to support creative projects centred around women.
Her most recent solo fortepiano album, Des dentelles à l’échafaud, dedicated to the composers Hélène de Montgeroult and Marie Bigot (2024, Présence Compositrices), was awarded the Diapason d’or.
Her first quintet album, Back to Bach (2021, Paraty), revisits the works of J.S. Bach, re-interpreting them through the lenses of jazz and improvisation.
Her project Ascensions explores the musics of the Mediterranean with Turkish singer Gülay Hacer Toruk.
Currently, Lucie is composing the music for her next project, Passio, a contemporary oratorio based on the histories of women’s Passions that is expected to be completed in 2026.
Composition has been and remains central to her career. The development of her musical language has been significantly influenced by her participation in the Orchestra des Jeunes de la Méditerranée (Medinae) and transcultural projects at the Abbey de Royaumont, where she has collaborated with artists such as Fabrizio Cassol, Magic Malik, Amir El Saffar, Joce Mienniel and Joëlle Léandre. These experiences have enabled her to combine non-Western influences with the traditions of Western classical music and jazz in her compositions, resulting in a unique musical language.
As an artist-advocate for the roles and visibility of women in the world of music, Lucie seeks to cross stylistic frontiers while celebrating and elevating women composers in her own compositions, projects and performances. An audacious and original musician, Lucie is a key figure in the present musical scene.
❝ There is no line of demarcation between the music of today and the music of yesterday. Music, like life, is in constant evolution.❞
Nadia Boulanger
