DES DENTELLES À L’ÉCHAFAUD

Introduction

Album CD “Diapason d’Or” – November 2024

Des dentelles à l’échafaud was recorded at the Philharmonie de Paris and at the Geelvinck Museum in the Netherlands on two exceptional fortepianos.

This project, issued on the Présence Compositrice label in November 2024, has received acclaim from the European press and was crowned with the Diapason d’or.

For more than ten years, Lucie has dedicated herself to the rediscovery and promotion of forgotten French classical repertoire, in particular the works of French women composers of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Lucie has made it her mission to shed light on this neglected repertoire and its composers, working to restore the rightful place of these women and their creations in Western musical history.

She believes it is equally essential to recognise the mark that they have made, not only in their own time but on future generations as well.

Two composers are particularly dear to Lucie: Hélène de Montgeroult (1764-1836) and Marie Bigot de Morogues (1786-1820). Their music, with its richness and exceptional profundity, merits rediscovery and celebration.

Through this project, Lucie hopes to pay homage to their talent and their contribution to classical music.

Des dentelles à l’échafaud is much more than a simple recording: it is an invitation to explore an often-neglected part of our musical patrimony.

Lucie invites the listener to plunge into this sonic universe in order to rediscover the beauty and complexity of this music and these exceptional composers.
